Russian Diesel Deal Unlikely to Relieve US Prices
Bloomberg Economics Economic Statecraft Lead Chris Kennedy tells Bloomberg This Weekend that President Donald Trump’s agreement to obtain Russian diesel is unlikely to significantly lower US fuel prices because the proposed November shipment amounts to roughly one day of American consumption. Speaking with hosts David Gura and Christina Ruffini, Kennedy says damage to Russian refineries, logistical challenges and potential legal restrictions raise questions about whether Moscow can deliver the promised fuel, while the agreement could complicate Ukraine’s campaign against Russian energy infrastructure.
