Israel is holding nationwide ceremonies for those killed in the Hamas terror attacks | DW News
It is marking the October 7th anniversary on October 5 because its official national memorial day is determined by the Hebrew
calendar. Flags were lowered to half-mast on public buildings at 6:29 am, at the time the attack began three years ago. Hamas militants killed around 12-hundred people and took more than 250 hostages. In response, Israel launched a war on Gaza, killing tens of thousands of Palestinians and displacing much of the territory’s population.
