Former President Bill Clinton delivered a sharp critique of the current administration during his September 22 speech opening the Clinton Global Initiative in New York.
Clinton accused those in power of creating “one set of rules for themselves” and another for everyone else, while saying government had been weaponized to settle personal scores, prosecute enemies and suppress free speech. He also accused the federal government of becoming a profit center for those in power and their allies.
Although Clinton did not name Donald Trump in those remarks, the comments were widely reported as a critique of the Trump administration.
