How privacy risk factors change with wearable tech
Wearable devices change the “risk factor” for privacy, says Calli Schroeder of the Electronic Privacy Information Center.
“When I hold up a camera, you can see I’ve got a whole camera in my hand that’s pointing at you. If I just have a wearable device in my glasses, if I have a pin that’s recording, things like that, it’s much more subtle, it’s much easier to miss, and it’s much more mobile,” she told Horizons host William Brangham. “So I can bring my Meta glasses into your home and film a whole bunch of things you didn’t expect to be exposed to the public.”
