Man who shot three Palestinian college students convicted
A jury in Vermont has convicted a man for attempted murder in the shootings of three Palestinian college students who were walking near his home.
The jury on Monday rejected 51-year-old Jason Eaton’s insanity defense.
The 2023 attack left one of the victims, Hisham Awartani, partially paralyzed. Following the verdict, Awartani’s mother said that while the trauma cannot be erased, justice has been served.
Eaton now faces a potential sentence of life in prison.
