Ukrainian children return to school as Russia bombs Kyiv
In Ukraine, local authorities in Kyiv say at least 12 people were killed after six straight days of Russian bombing on the city.
On the day that many of that nation’s students returned to school, at least three children were injured.
In the capital, sounds of the new school year rang out, but, within moments, air raid sirens sent the crowd hurrying into the school’s bomb shelter.
Ukraine’s leader, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, visited a school Tuesday and condemned the attacks as despicable.
One principal talked about how war is all the youngest children have ever known.
