Trump just called decades-old drills between the US and its ally South Korea “hostile”. That’s what North Korea calls them too. It’s more bad news for US allies in Asia: after echoing Xi’s words on Taiwan earlier this year, Trump is now sounding much like Kim Jong Un as he looks to scale back joint military drills with Seoul.
