Hawaii’s Big Island braces for first direct hurricane hit in 155 years | DW News


Hurricane Lala is barreling toward Hawaii’s Big Island. It could be the first hurricane-strength storm to make direct landfall there since 1871. Power outages have already hit thousands of residents, as wild winds and heavy rain cause damage. Evacuations are underway. There are warnings of severe flooding, landslides and coastal erosion.
