Rand Paul: Iran war ‘wouldn’t have been my choice’
On Morning Joe, Sen. Rand Paul, R-KY, renews criticism for the war in Iran. He calls the conflict a “war of choice,” before adding ”It wouldn’t have been my choice.” The comments come after President Donald Trump lashed out Monday in a Truth Social post at Iranian officials for contradicting his claims that negotiations were ongoing. Paul, chair of the Senate Homeland Security Committee and a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, argues for Congress to rein in the president on decisions related to war.
