Louvre Museum re-opens gallery after jewelry heist

The Louvre Museum in Paris, France, reopened its Apollo Gallery to visitors on July 22, nine months after a spectacular theft of French Crown Jewels worth an estimated $102 million. The gallery reopened without the jewels that once formed its main attraction. Those pieces, including the famed Regent diamond, will eventually be displayed in a separate high-security area of the museum, Louvre director Christophe Leribault said.
