A former Democratic Party chair’s plan to save democracy
Ben Wikler chaired the Democratic Party of Wisconsin for six years, leading to victories in numerous key contests in the battleground state. Wikler lost the 2025 election to lead the Democratic National Committee. Now, he’s detailing his prescription for “saving” America’s democracy in a new book, “This is the Plan.” Wikler spoke to Geoff Bennett about the future of the Democratic party, the sweeping policy changes he’d like to see and his outlook on the 2026 and 2028 elections.
