‘The stakes COULD NOT be higher’: Top Maine Dem enters race to replace Graham Platner

Graham Platner’s sudden departure from Maine’s Senate race amid sexual assault allegations has turned Democrats’ plan to reclaim the Senate upside down. While Platner denies the allegations, the race to replace him is on. Secretary of State Shenna Bellows has launched her bid to replace Platner and says “the path to control of the U.S. Senate, and the Supreme Court, and the safety and security of the 2028 midterms lies through Maine.”
