India Confirms BrahMos Missile Deal With Vietnam, Indonesia Agreement Nears Completion
India has confirmed a major defence export breakthrough by signing a deal to supply the BrahMos missile to Vietnam, with a similar agreement with Indonesia nearing completion. The missile—jointly developed with Russia—is among the fastest operational cruise missiles and can be launched from land, sea, and air. The Vietnam deal is reportedly worth around $629 million and includes training and logistics. The move builds on India’s growing defence export push, following an earlier deal with the Philippines. With rising tensions in the Indo-Pacific and South China Sea, demand for advanced missile systems is increasing, positioning BrahMos as a key strategic export and boosting India’s influence in the region.
