Bolton says giving Iran the Strait of Hormuz a ‘mistake’
For perspective on the latest developments in the conflict with Iran, Amna Nawaz spoke with John Bolton.
He served as national security advisor in President Trump’s first term, and in recent interviews has stressed his opinion that the U.S. should not be negotiating with Iran, but instead using military force to open the Strait of Hormuz.
During his tenure, the U.S. announced it was withdrawing from the JCPOA, the nuclear agreement with Iran that had been negotiated during the Obama administration.
