Nikole Hannah-Jones: Diluting Black vote in South ‘disrespectful to our ancestors’


Nikole Hannah-Jones, author of the 1619 Project, says the Voting Rights Act’s necessity was demonstrated when, “within hours of the Supreme Court’s ruling, white southern legislatures moved to change the voting maps. Jones says, “that shows that what was holding them back was the Voting Rights Act.”
