UK military parachutes onto remote island after suspected hantavirus case
A British army team parachuted onto Tristan da Cunha on May 9 to deliver medical supplies after one person on the island was suspected of contracting hantavirus. The operation is the first time the UK military has deployed medical personnel to provide humanitarian support via a parachute jump, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
