Chile landfill tops UN global list for methane emissions
A landfill on the outskirts of Santiago, Chile, is one of the world’s largest sources of climate-warming methane gas, according to a UN study, which estimated the trash heap produces emissions equivalent to those from nearly 2 million cars driven annually.
