Assam Exit Polls: Will BJP Under Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Leadership Strom To Victory Again?
Exit polls have predicted a massive victory for the BJP-led NDA in the Assam Assembly Elections 2026. Major pollsters like Matrize, Axis My India, and Peoples Pulse project the BJP alliance to win between 68 to 100 seats, with Himanta Biswa Sarma enjoying strong popularity as the preferred Chief Minister. The Congress-led alliance is expected to secure only 22-36 seats. Assam recorded a high voter turnout of 85.38% in single-phase polling held on April 9, with results scheduled for May 4. In 2021, the BJP had won 60 seats. This strong showing, if proven correct, would mark a decisive win for the BJP-AGP-BPF alliance.
