US seizure of Iranian cargo ship fuels tensions, oil price surge
Tensions between the US and Iran have escalated once more after US marines seized an Iranian cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman. Washington claims the vessel tried to get past a US blockade on Iranian ports. Iran calls it an act of piracy and says it has no plans to attend any talks with US negotiators.
DW asked Middle East analyst Laura Blumenfeld from Johns Hopkins University, how much the latest US move put the current ceasefire in jeopardy.
